Hello, I recently started playing so I don't know very much about the game.

So I bought a weapon some time ago and it said it did +70 slashing damage. I am several levels higher and now it does 142 damage. What causes this increase in displayed damage? Do weapons have there own internal level up system? I am having trouble finding a weapon that has more damage than my current one.
