Is there a proper format for gallery naming if it's an image set of a single artist? Should it be something like [Artist] - *Artist Name* or does it not really matter so long as the artist's name is a part of the title?

There's not really any naming rules for imagesets, but anything vaguely resembling how we do other titles is appreciated. I personally prefer [Artist] Source (for example, [Fue] Pixiv). Often with other descriptors, like "tier 2 reward" etc. But there's no real rule for it.
