Some people believe that even single player games should not cheat, while others believe that games only need to be happy. What is your opinion? (To be honest, sometimes I even cheat in H games.)

If it doesn't affect how other people enjoy the game, who are they to judge how you choose to enjoy playing?

It's fine to cheat in single-player games/modes.

As long as it doesnt affect public markers, it shouldnt be a problem for anyone.

Personally, I think it really depends on what the person is trying to achieve. For example, if you're trying to test builds and not want to go through the hassle why not. Otherwise, in most cases you're possibly denying yourself a fun experience.

Games cost too much time and money. If it takes cheating to get a proper worth from that, then so be it.

Depends why you are cheating, if it is only for your experience then it isn't an issue if it is not affecting anyone else.
There is a lot of cheating in streaming and speed running which does affect communities.

Recently I've been watching a playthrough of the Chrono Cross remake on Switch, and they stole features from the emulation experience: fast-forward (in emu gained by disabling frame limit), avoid random encounters (cheat) and increase party strength (not sure, probably cheating too), and those "features" are now a natural part of the game. I approve.

I usually use cheats in H-games when I have completed most of the game and grind the remaining CG

New players are weak, that is why they cheat so much. They can not stand the grind and can not achieve pixel perfect reaction times. Auto battle being a quality of life improvement is kind of funny.

SINGLE player. If you want another experience go for it. It's all up to you what you want to experience in a game as long as you have fun.

Each to their own, but I think it's pointless. What satisfaction do you get out of a click to win button. No dopamine if you aren't overcoming challenges and seeing progress in your own skills. I guess if you just wanted to see the story or something.

As others said, a lot of the fun comes from the challenge, but in single player I understand the desire to just mess around sometimes (e.g. Minecraft creative mode). But it gets boring fast, so really it should be done sparingly in single player to get past boring sections, get to DLC, etc. (unless you find it enjoyable ofc). If it's cosmetics then go for it since imo the challenge vs reward aspect isn't there. In multiplayer, absolutely no except for client-side cosmetics. Cheaters in MP are sad people

It depends, if you want to enjoy the game to its full potential then cheating will ruin it. because cheating in single player games will just let you skip a bunch of content that you will encounter if you did not cheat.
if the game is harder than it should and you are frustrated that you cannot pass a certain section, and if there are no possible ways you can beat it without torturing yourself, then cheating is the only way.
if you just want to mess around the limits of the game then cheating is acceptable.

As some old fart that grew up with the konami code, game genie, and game shark,(to name a few) fuck it, play it how you want. Nothing was funnier then driving around a rocket launching convertible and laying waste to enemy troops in Age of Empires.
Hell, if you really have a stick up your ass, even many mods for games like Fallout, Ark, Age of Conan, or Elder Scrolls would be cheating, since they change the core way the game is played, despite a lot of them improving features in those games, like fishing, or even inventory management.
Though you start cheating with aim bots, wall hacks, and bots in multiplayer, will gladly smash your hands with a pipe wrench so that you can't play anymore.

Doesn't matter. You can fuck your mom and kill your neighbor's dog in SP and I don't give a shit.

For me, I try not to cheat until after the first playthrough, or unless I'm really stuck. Games are supposed to be challenging so that they'll make you improve to get better and better with each attempt. The thrill you get at finally clearing that boss or that level is incredible.
On the other hand, games are also supposed to be fun. Getting frustrated from being unable to progress because you keep getting stuck at some point in the game sucks, and eventually you won't want to play anymore. For some people, "git gud" takes up too much time that they don't have, or they aren't really cut out for that particular task. In this case, I think it's okay to cheat if it makes you happy. Besides, the developers wouldn't put cheat codes in their games if they didn't meant for you not to use them at some point.

I don't mind it at all. I liked when older games would actually sort of encourage it, like cheat codes for example. Reminds me of when I used to play Saint's Row 2.

Usually it makes it funnier temporary... Same as multiplayer.
Better not to cheat at all to enjoy it better.
Except for Pay 2 Win games, adding yourself credits by cheating is morally acceptable imo.
