I wrote this post for the WTB section several years ago, and it remains largely accurate. I'm adding it to the WTS side too by request. Thanks to Shank for updating with the Market section. Like the other thread, I am also leaving this thread open for discussion, especially as I have a conflict of interest as a fellow player.
---
I've recently seen a number of WTB threads offering old prices for items that have depreciated considerably, and there are many WTB threads that have long preyed on the lazy/uninformed trying to get items cheap (whether that's for their own use or for resale).
This thread is about three methods you can use to find information about current prices for items, and a few notes about equipment. It's intentionally left open; you may post here if you have questions, suggestions for other methods players can use, or want to dispute any of the information here.
Item PricesMethod 1: The MarketThe Market, built into the HentaiVerse minigame, is located at the top of each HentaiVerse non-battle page, or through
this link.
This is the quickest place to get item prices that reflect current demand. Items are separated by category, and lists every item that is able to be traded through MoogleMail, in addition to Energy Drinks and Caffeinated Candy, which are otherwise untradeable outside of the market.
Each item displays historical data, showing low, average, and high sales alongside volume across Day, Week, Month, and Year.
Additionally, the last 12 transactions are displayed, as well as the lowest 9 sell orders and highest 9 buy orders.
An items extended sales/purchase history can be found by clicking on "Show Full Trade Log"
Note that old obsolete items in the Artifacts and Trophies categories are not shown by default, they may be viewed by clicking "Show Obsolete Items". These items may still be traded normally if they are listed in The Market.
Sales through the Market happen instantly when a buy order or a sell order are met, with credits deposited or taken from the Market Balance, which can be added to or withdrawn from at any time partially or wholly.
Method 2: SmartSearchIf you have Tampermonkey (or a similar Userscript manager) installed in your browser, you can use
Superlatanium's SmartSearch script to search the WTS and WTB subforums.
Usage is as follows:
- Step 1) Install the script.
- Step 2) Go to the forum you want to search, and press the 'Save' Button.
- This adds every thread on the page to its database. You may want to go to page 2 and 3 and save them, too.
- This saves the threads right now. If it has been longer than a day since your last search, you might want to save again for up-to-date information. - Step 3) Type in your search term, and hit 'SmartSearch'.
- The results are opened in a new tab, so some browsers might block it as a pop-up.
- Your search term must be contiguous ('legendary radiant phase' would work, 'legendary phase' wouldn't match anything).
- You can use * as a wildcard ('legendary * phase').
Method 3: Superlatanium's auctionsSuperlatanium provides links to all of his past auctions and their data on [
reasoningtheory.net]
his home page.
You can either use the 'item list' links, or go to the E-H thread, to see prices of equipments or materials for recent auctions. Note that it is very hard to infer information about equipment prices from only a few recent data points.
Equipment PricesSmartSearch can be used to look for equipment, but player shop prices are not always fair. It is usually better to look for auction prices to see what the modern demand for an equipment is.
Method 1: Price CheckThe
Price Check thread in the HentaiVerse Chat forum is a place where you can post links to equipments to ask how much they're worth, or ask about how much you should expect to pay for something you want.
If you post a link to a valuable equipment, it is highly likely you will receive PMs from people who may make you offers, and they may not be good prices. This is not always a scam, but most people do not have the time or interest to search every thread and every auction to understand price trends for equipment, and may not know how much something is worth. If you have a very valuable equipment, it is almost always a good idea to send it to Superlatanium's auctions.
Method 2: DiscordIf you are a Discord user, you can come to the
HV Discord server and use our chat bot functions to analyse auction data.
Step 1) Go to the #bot-commands channel.
Step 2) Type '
!eq search terms'
- You can type partial item names or even partial words. ('legendary charged mjolnir', 'leg charg mjol'.)
- You can use a year to search auctions from that year or newer. ('leg charg mjol 2020'.) This is useful for making sure you're only looking at recent prices.
- '!eq buyer
username' and '!eq seller
username' will show you equipment bought or sold by that user. ('!eq buyerlestion'.) If your username has spaces in it, type only the first word.
Bonus: is my equipment valuable?Peerless items are always valuable. Even if the item type is terrible, it is still interesting to collectors.
If your equipment is legendary and has one of the following names, it is almost guaranteed to be desired at auction:
- Radiant Phase
- Charged Phase
- Charged Cotton Cap/Gloves/Shoes of the Elementalist/Heaven-Sent/Demon-Fiend
- Willow Staff of Destruction (not Ethereal or Hallowed)
- Hallowed Oak Staff of Heimdall
- Savage Shade * of the Shadowdancer
- Savage Power * of Slaughter
In addition, the following items may be valuable if they have good rolls on their important stats, or if the level is lower than ~400:
- Fiery/Arctic/Shocking/Tempestuous Redwood Staff of Destruction
- Charged Cotton Robe/Pants of the Elementalist/Heaven-Sent/Demon-Fiend
- * Rapier of Slaughter
- * Force Shield of * (must not have Agility)
This is not an exhaustive list of valuable equipment; there are sometimes items that are not commonly used but are still good (for example, a high-roll Redwood Staff of the Elementalist, or Mystic Phase). If you are not sure about an item that is not on here, you should try to learn from the Price Check thread, or from Ask the Experts. It is worth looking at
this wiki page to learn about prefixes and suffixes.
Superlatanium's auction guidelines also discuss some items that can be sold at auction, although many of the items listed are worth less now than when it was written.
